The cognitive health of our children, their well-being and their happiness are of concern to us. But is this the case for everyone? The use of psychotropic drugs, SSRIs and other psychostimulants, antidepressants and antipsychotics is increasing strongly in the United States and especially in Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas (and Wyoming too). In these states, almost one in five individuals is currently taking one type of drug in this category.
Michigan is ranked 1st hightest out in 51 in the number of 4-17 years old children under ADHD medication, and 10th highest for children under ADHD medication and behavioral therapy.
This is of great concern because of the many and worrying side effects, addictive effects, and the highly questionable efficacy of most of these drugs in the short and long term. This is particularly worrying in this trend, which seems to be ignored: the incredible number of children taking such drugs and the fact that this number is increasing year after year.
In Quebec, Canada, several pediatricians have sounded the alarm against the over-prescription of such drugs so easy to get prescribed. But voices are scarce to denounce such practices. Between the complacency of a certain medical community, the pharmaceutical laboratories which maintain more customers than cure the sick, sometimes even some schools a little in a hurry to calm their students, It becomes difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Too many kids under psychiatric drugs
Even more alarming: nearly half of these children are between the ages of four and five, an astonishing number of nearly 280,000 of them are under one year old! It sounds incredible, but babies are receiving psychiatric medication. Also, in one of our articles published in Canada, we mentioned the fact that certain life choices (tranquility, career priority, etc.) could influence parents to require the medical community to "calm down" their children. We also talked about those schools in Quebec City that limited children's physical activities to avoid potential injuries that only increased their insurance premiums because of the astronomical financial demands of parents who sued them in court. The lack of physical activity resulted in increased hyperactivity in the classroom that pediatricians treated with medication. The number also increases for toddlers aged two to three, with nearly 400,000 children in this category taking psychiatric medications in the US. About 1,500 children under the age of one are taking ADHD medication, at an age when ADHD can not even be medically diagnosed!
Data from IMS Health show that the situation is only getting worse as children grow up: almost 4.2 million children aged 6 to 12 years old take a type of psychiatric medication.
Safer and natural alternatives to giving children psychotropic drugs
When adults, supposed to have some common sense, choose to take psychiatric medication, it can be hopeless, unwell, be misguided in many cases, but it remains their choice, a choice they take responsibility for. themselves. Children, however, do not have this capacity of choice and the knowledge to fully understand the consequences of taking such drugs for the rest of their lives, which essentially means practicing, if the drugs are not justified, a form of violence and abuse towards them. Still, according to the Journal de Québec, there are certainly "false diagnoses" of ADHD on the part of practitioners. Even Quebec government medical system does not hide the almost systematic use of Ritalin or equivalent to address behavioral problems in children. And then, to get SSRI's or psychostimulants, it just takes a few minutes, while behavioral therapy, if it's really necessary, takes months to get and keep up. When the alternative comes to the parents in a hurry, no doubt, psycho-active treatments are the first on the list, at the expense of the health of the child, while thinking of a natural alternative would make sense. Many doctors and pediatricians are already suspected to have some financial incentives to get young people to start taking these drugs, but why are their parents so willing to follow these doctors? As we have already mentioned, often following their lifestyle choices. In addition, it also happens that many of them also take and already psychiatric drugs, on their side of course. We can even and sadly find that it has almost become a way of life in our country and many people think that these drugs are harmless or simply unavoidable given our modern way of life.
When this is not enough, when the schedule does not allow to take a break necessary to catch the breath, there are excellent supplements of natural health, products which respect the potentialities bodily, which induce no addiction neither undesirable effect, but because nature is beautifully made, they are nevertheless very effective for the treatment of these affections. Used for over 13 years now, recommended by many therapists in Europe, and even prescribed by doctors in some countries, LTO3 is a natural health supplement, available in 3 versions (regular, No taste and junior - and soon another version) that helps to seriously improve cognitive health, significantly reduce anxiety and panic states. It is also a great way to calmly fight the effects of ADHD. All of these claims are accepted by Health Canada.
LTO3 is the symbiosis of marine DNA extracted from herring roe with high concentration of high quality Omega-3 and plants such as skullcap.
